Hosting and support

We watch while you sleep.

We host your software, back it up and watch it around the clock. When something goes wrong we’re the first to know, and you hear it from us before you think to ask.

Let’s talk about your project

What does monitoring actually mean?

It means an automatic watchman with a finger on the pulse. If a page won’t open, if it slowed down, if a background job stalled or a disk is filling up, we get told.

Here’s the difference it makes. We know before your customer calls to say the site is down. A fault grows because nobody found out.

What we take care of

  • Hosting, including servers, domains and certificates
  • Backups, and rehearsing the restore
  • Monitoring uptime, speed, errors and resources
  • Updates, from security patches to version upgrades
  • Support for user questions and fault reports
  • Small improvements without a quote every time

What exactly do you watch?

A single up or down check isn’t enough, because a system can be up and still be unusable. Here’s what we actually look at:

  • Availability, checked from outside rather than from the server itself
  • Response time, because slowing down is the warning that comes before a fault
  • Error rates, since errors pile up in the background before anyone notices
  • Background jobs, so the thing that should run overnight actually ran
  • Disk, memory and database connections, with warning before they fill
  • Certificate and domain expiry, so nothing quietly shuts the site down
  • Backups, both that they ran and that they restore

Where do the backups live?

Somewhere other than the system they came from. A backup on the same server isn’t a backup once that server is gone.

And the only way to know a backup works is to restore it. So we restore it and look, rather than checking that a backup was taken.

Whose servers and accounts are they?

Yours. We don’t put hosting accounts, domains or cloud subscriptions in our name.

We manage them and you own them. If we part ways, you don’t need anyone’s permission to move.

How do you tell me when something breaks?

Straight out. What happened, how much of it is affected, what we’re doing. Then why it happened and what we changed so it doesn’t happen again.

Hiding a fault is comfortable today and fatal to trust later. So we don’t.

What if I skip maintenance?

Software doesn’t stop one day. It goes untended slowly. Security patches stop arriving, the services it depends on change versions, a certificate expires.

Maintenance isn’t a subscription we’re pushing. It’s what makes software still work years after it goes in. If you don’t want it we won’t insist, but we’ll write down exactly what you’re taking on.

Questions we get asked

Will you maintain software you didn’t write?

We will. We take over software built by another team. We look at it first and tell you plainly what we can be responsible for.

Will the server be in Turkey?

Wherever you need it. If your data has to stay in Turkey, we set it up in a Turkish data centre.

Where do we send support requests?

We agree on one channel and every request is logged there. Who asked for what and what was done stays on record, so nothing gets lost.

Can I see for myself that everything is running?

Yes, we can open a status screen for you too. You can check whether the system is up without asking us.
